Boston Speed’s Famous Hot Dog Wagon

I haven’t been to Boston Speed’s since the 1990′s when the original Speed was still running the wagon. Today I went with my camera and my appetite. They are still ridiculously good hot dogs!

Fred’s Franks: In Search of the Shnurble

Just what is a Shnurble anyway? My crew and I headed up to Fred’s Franks (owned by Carl Galasso) so I could introduce them to a very unique hot dog: the Shnurble.

Fred’s Franks is owned by Carl Gallasso who bought the trailer from Fred a few years ago. It’s one of suburban Boston’s three “Pearls,” literally and figuratively. Fred’s serves grilled, Pearl Franks on the Big Green Egg with Wicked Good Charcoal.

We had some true silliness on our recent visit, check out the video.

Top Dog in Rockport, MA

Little Miss and I drove up to Rockport on a lovely summer day. We soaked up the Rockport charm and headed over to Top Dog for some lunch.

Snapping Good Health

Since January of 2011, I have lost 40 pounds and I ate a hot dog a day in July. This morning, I went for a check-up with my doctor- he was surprised by my cholesterol levels!

National Hot Dog Month 2011: Day 31 at Nick’s Original Coney Island Weiners in Fall River

For the last visit of my month long quest I visited Nick’s Original Coney Island Weiners in Fall River, MA. Nick’s has been in business since 1920 and the current owners, Fred and Marcie Beaudry are carrying on the tradition in fine fashion.

Since I got home at around 10 PM tonight, I am saving editing the big video of my visit until tomorrow. For now, I offer up a small taste….

National Hot Dog Month 2011: That’s My Dog in Plainville, MA

For the 30th stop on the journey to eat a hot dog a day in honor of National Hot Dog Month, Little Miss and I pulled off 495 on our way to the beach to lunch at a little hot dog cart called That’s My Dog. It’s a cute little cart run by a guy named Mike Hogan who is very dedicated to his craft.
