Snappy Dogs – National Hot Dog Month Day 23

Happy National Hot Dog Month from Teresa and Lisa at Snappy Dogs!Lisa and Teresa over at Snappy Dogs have one of the funkiest hot dog trailers around. They’ve been grilling up Pearl All Beef Franks and topping them with their home-made condiments for four years now and they’re a Hot Dog Stories favorite. Since the theme of this year’s National Hot Dog Month Tour is “all new,” I didn’t think Snappy Dogs would “get on the docket,” but the delightful pair assured me there were a LOT of new things happening at the cutest hot dog trailer around.

There have been a few other “old friends with a new twist” on this year’s tour, so if the ladies had some new stuff, I was game. The Snappy Dogs trailer is re-oriented in the parking lot, so it’s a “new” location; the dining room was expanded, that’s new too; there’s even a brand new topping – pineapple relish!

Snappy Dogs tackles the Ketchup Question

One of the home-made toppings offered at Snappy Dogs is their Jerk Ketchup. We all know how I feel about ketchup on a hot dog, so you can understand my trepidation. Lisa assured me that even though it’s got ketchup in the name, it’s far from the traditional red stuff. It’s more like a Jamaican jerk sauce with Habanero peppers and loads of other spices, so I put my preconceptions aside and dove right in!

The Snappy Dogs trailer is now open 7 days a week, so you can get that Snappy Dog fix all summer long. The Snappy Dogs Facebook page is the best place to check on where and when the trailer will be open. You can also check out the Snappy Dogs website for info.

Enjoy today’s video.

I shoot Hot Dog Stories with a Kodak Zi8 camera with an Audio Technica ATR288W VHF Battery-Powered TwinMic Microphone System, a Flip Ultra HD camera, and a 60″tripod. I edit with Cyberlink PowerDirector 11 Ultimate. I will also take some stills with my new Canon EOS Rebel Camera.
