National Hot Dog Month 2013

National Hot Dog Month Tour

The 2013 National Hot Dog Month Tour begins on July 1st and continues all month long! As I have done the past two years, each day I will feature a different hot dog venue. This year, I am traveling further than I have before and I will eat hot dogs in 9 (maybe 10) states. I’ll cover all six New England states, California, Florida, and New Jersey. If I have the time, I’ll hop down to NYC for a day or two as well!

National Hot Dog Month Tour Stops

The 2013 National Hot Dog Month Tour features iconic establishments over one hundred years old to brand new hot dog businesses and everything in between. This year, with the exception of two cookouts and a visit to Casey’s on July 31, there will be NO REPEATS! While some old friends may pop up, they have to have something new that warrants a visit.

Each day, a hot dog establishment will be featured here on Hot Dog Stories. There will be videos of each visit posted here on the site and on The Hotdogman Channel on Youtube. You can also follow along on the tour on the Hot Dog Stories Facebook Page, head on over there and give the page a “like.”

This year will have Hotdogman Jr., Mrs. HDM, Little Miss, and some “surprise guests” tagging along on some stories – so watch out for celebrities and hot dog “dignitaries” as the month unfolds. The video production has improved and all videos will be 3-5 minutes long.

I shoot with a Kodak Zi8 and an Audio Technica ATR288W VHF Battery-Powered TwinMic Microphone System, a Flip Ultra HD camera, and a 60″tripod. I edit with Cyberlink PowerDirector 11 Ultimate. I will also take some stills with my new Canon EOS Rebel Camera  (it’s an older model a friend gave me, so no video).

About hotdogman

I enjoy traveling and eating hot dogs wherever I am. I like to sample the local variations of America's favorite encased meat and discovering the stories behind the hot dog, the vendor, and the regional preferences. I also write about How to Start a Hot Dog Business, The Hot Dog Truck, The Shark Tank, and I have a personal blog, RobMerlinodotCom
