The Dogfather in Worcester, MA

The Dogfather

The National Hot Dog Month Tour stopped at The Dogfather in Worcester, MA on July 5, 2012. I wanted to check out owner Mark Gallant’s newest Extreme Hot Dog, and I was not disappointed. The Dogfather is located on the corner of Shore Road and Holden Street in Worcester, MA and is open Tuesday – Friday: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm and Saturday: 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Mark’s been in the hot dog business for about three years now and he’s having great success. He has a loyal following, a good gimmick, a fantastic location, and he serves delicious hot dogs. Many of The Dogfather’s hot dogs are special creations Mark cooked up himself.

Mark and I have similar senses of humor, so it’s fun to visit The Dogfather. He’s all business when it comes to his hot dog truck; he just re-did the inside, adding a new refrigerated condiment station and he got a new, super quiet generator.

It was a little quiet today, I went just as he opened at ten and a lot of people have a “hot dog hangover” after being at cook outs yesterday on the Fourth of July. That doesn’t stop Mark, he believes in “making the perfect hotdog for every customer, every time!”

Before I ate, I gave Mark a National Hot Dog Month Tour tee shirt- sponsored by DreamMaker Hot Dog Carts (he gave me one of his too), some Onion Crunch, and a package of Pearl All Beef Jalapeno Franks.  I got the whirlwind tour of the truck, inquired about future plans, and watched Mark make his newest extreme hot dog: Dogzilla.

DOGZILLA

I am not going to divulge what is in the Dogzilla, you’ll have to watch the video for that. All I’ll say is it was delicious and one monster of a hot dog creation.

Enjoy!
