Nick Loeb, best known as Sofia Vergara’s boyfriend, is an entrepreneur and politician. He recently sent me a big container of his new Onion Crunch- a kind of roasted onion condiment that’s great on hot dogs. I wanted to try it out, so I went down to Zipity Do Dog in Framingham to field test it.

Fred’s Franks: In Search of the Shnurble
Just what is a Shnurble anyway? My crew and I headed up to Fred’s Franks (owned by Carl Galasso) so I could introduce them to a very unique hot dog: the Shnurble.
Fred’s Franks is owned by Carl Gallasso who bought the trailer from Fred a few years ago. It’s one of suburban Boston’s three “Pearls,” literally and figuratively. Fred’s serves grilled, Pearl Franks on the Big Green Egg with Wicked Good Charcoal.
We had some true silliness on our recent visit, check out the video.

National Hot Dog Month 2011: Larry Joe’s New England Fire Pit in Bellingham, MA
The 27th day of my quest to eat a hot dog a day in honor of National Hot Dog Month brought me to Bellingham, Massachusetts: home of The Fire Pit. A trip to Larry Joe’s New England Fire Pit is always fun. For this trip, my buddy Drew Bennet scored a 2011 Camaro. I got to drive it, but Drew made me promise not to post any video of the ride. Let’s just say I was flirting with the limits of the machine and leave it at that! Larry Joe and I also performed “The Hotdogman.” Larry played the piano and I did the lead vocals.
Here is the video of our visit.
