Onion Crunch- it’s “Crunyumchy”

Nick Loeb, best known as Sofia Vergara’s boyfriend, is an entrepreneur and politician. He recently sent me a big container of his new Onion Crunch- a kind of roasted onion condiment that’s great on hot dogs. I wanted to try it out, so I went down to Zipity Do Dog in Framingham to field test it.

Hot Doggin’ in Maine: Bloopers and Out-takes

These are some of the sillier/funnier moments from our recent mini Hot Dog Tour of Maine. Make sure to watch for Mrs. Hotdogman’s “cheese rant.”

Nunan’s Lobster Hut in Cape Porpoise, Maine

I know this is hot Dog Stories, but every once in a while I like to step out of the box. Since Nunan’s is on my top five favorite restaurant list, I figured it was as good a place as any to get away from hot dogs- even if only for a day. They do serve Kayem franks here, but you’d be nuts to order anything but the lobster. They catch ‘em, they cook ‘em, they crack ‘em, YOU eat ‘em.

Nunan’s is a bucket list restaurant.

National Hot Dog Month 2011: Day 31 at Nick’s Original Coney Island Weiners in Fall River

For the last visit of my month long quest I visited Nick’s Original Coney Island Weiners in Fall River, MA. Nick’s has been in business since 1920 and the current owners, Fred and Marcie Beaudry are carrying on the tradition in fine fashion.

Since I got home at around 10 PM tonight, I am saving editing the big video of my visit until tomorrow. For now, I offer up a small taste….

Saturday July 23 was the 23rd day of my quest to eat a hot dog a day in honor of National Hot Dog Month. It was a real scorcher- around 100 degrees. A good day for the beach all day and Cape Cod League Baseball in the evening. I headed to Spillane Field in Wareham, MA to catch the game between the Wareham Gatemen take on the Harwich Mariners. They serve hot dogs at the concession stand at Spillane Field in Wareham-guess what’s for dinner!

On July 22, the 22nd day of my quest to eat a hot a day in honor of Ntional Hot Dog Month, I went to Mrs. HDM’s favorite spot: The Edge. It was 102 degrees outside, so I wanted to go somewhere with air conditioning! The Edge is the former Edgemere Diner in Shrewsbury.
